11 Dec Delivery of First 3G Smart Meters to SSE Begins
Slovak electricity distributor SSE is starting to roll-out the new batch of integrated smart meters with 3G communication, manufactured by Meter&Control, to their customers. SSE (Stredoslovenská energetika, a.s.) is the second largest electricity distributor in Slovakia, which covers the regions of Žilina, Banská Bystrica and Trenčin, serving around 700,000 customers, among businesses and households. The delivery and installation of three-phase smart meters sees Meter&Control as a proud key partner in the project. Following the very strict tendering and qualification process, we worked closely with partners from SSE in developing solutions and modifications to our existing state-of-the-art ST402 integrated meter in order to meet the local regulatory specifications and managed to work them out to the assembly line without any change in cost. The resulting product which leaves our production facility is a highly sophisticated, reliable and stable smart meter with integrated 3G communication module. It is fully compliant with MID-B and MID-D regulations, thus requiring no additional verification or related costs, and features interoperability with 3rd party devices and AMM/AMI software, as per customer’s specification and local regulation. This solution will not only give SSE a fully interoperable solution for current needs, but will also create a strong base for the future technology enhancements and updates. This important project and international reference was only made possible by close cooperation with the customer and in-depth understanding of real needs in the field, to which our R&D department responded by developing and testing solutions which ultimately met these requirements.
